Pressure is on to create new productive woodlands in the north of England. The industry faces declining timber availability in the coming decades, just as Brexit and an increasing demand for timber in the construction and energy markets offers opportunities unparalleled in recent times.
‘Productive Woodland Creation: Challenges and Solutions’ is a major new conference that will feature speakers from across the UK and address the questions of what the level of demand is, where should these new woodlands be sited, how will the land be made available, where will the financing come from, what regulatory hurdles does the industry face, amongst others.
This conference is being held in conjunction with the Confor North of England Regional Group and Roots to Prosperity.
